CDS141. BR Metropolitan Cammell Set of 4 BR Mk1 Pullman Coaches. In Pullman Carriage Company Umber and Cream livery. Comprising (1) First Class Parlour Car 'Pearl'. (2) First Class Parlour Car 'Amber'. (3) Second Class Kitchen/Dining Car 'Car No. 346'. (4) Second Class Parlour Car 'Car No. 352'. These are from Easybuild kits, of moulded ABS plastic construction, with full interior details and with passengers fitted. They are painted to a good amateur standard. They have Kadee couplings fitted to the buffer beams and have Easybuild bogies fitted. The models have had medium use with some paint touch-ups on the grey roofs. Metro-Cammell built 44 Mk1 Pullman Cars in 1960/1961 (21 First Class, 22 Second Class, 1 Bar Car) replacing many earlier vehicles. However they built no further brake vehicles so the original 1928 series of brake vehicles continued in service. The BR Mk1 Pullmans were primarily used for East Coast services and many remained in service until circa 1978 with 26 of the 44 vehicles having been preserved (The final 'Yorkshire Pullman' ran on 5th May 1978). Of this set, 'Pearl' and 'Amber' have been preserved but rebuilt as sleeping cars. 'Car No. 352' is preserved but renamed as 'Amethyst'. £695 for the Set of Four Coaches.
