LRH07. BR ex-Southern Rly ex-SE&CR Wainwright 'D' Class 4-4-0 & Tender No. 31734. in lined BR black with early crest, weathered, and shedplate 74D Tonbridge. This looks to be from a Gladiator brass kit and is fitted with a single stage gearbox, MSC 'JH' motor, Slaters wheels, and with good cab detail and crew. This is a used model with extra weight added, a screw coupling on the loco and a Kadee coupling on the tender. It would benefit from light cosmetic refurbishment. The prototype (the D's were known as 'Coppernobs') was into service from Sharp Stewart & Co. in April 1901 as South Eastern & Chatham Railway No. 734, becoming Southern Railway No. 1734 and subsequently BR No. 31734 in 1948. It spent its BR days between Tonbridge and Faversham and was withdrawn from one of these sheds (different sources vary) in October or November 1955. Sister engine No. 737 is preserved as part of the National Collection. £695.
