LTSY01. BR ex-Southern Railway Unrebuilt Bulleid Merchant Navy Pacific and Tender No. 35001 ‘Channel Packet’. In lined BR green with early crest and shedplate 72A Exmouth Junction. The black paintwork (cab roof, boiler, smokebox, underframe detail and tender top) is lightly weathered. This is a brass model by F.C. Models of Korea for Golden Age Models, one of a Limited Edition of approximately 120 Bulleid Merchant Navy Pacifics which sold out many years ago. With a very high level of detail including working inside motion, a German motor by Faulhaber which has excellent pulling power, and with superb cab detail. Additionally, factory fitted with DCC and sound using an ESU Loksound V4 chip (address 5001) by South West Digital. It will also run on DC using the DCC/DC changeover switch underneath the cab. The model is lightly used and is supplied in its original inner and outer boxes with Golden Age and South West Digital paperwork, also with a detachable 'Atlantic Coast Express' headboard. This is a very heavy model which requires minimum 6ft radius curves. Due to the value and the box length, delivery (UK and International) is by DHL courier only, fully insured, at cost price. The prototype 35001 entered service from Eastleigh Works in June 1941 as No. 21C1, renumbered to No. 35001 in 1949. It was rebuilt at Eastleigh in August 1959 and was withdrawn from Bournemouth shed in November 1964 having spent only the previous two months there. Longer term allocations were at Exmouth Junction (probably from new until 1957) then Stewarts Lane (1957-1959) and Nine Elms (1959 until September 1964). SOLD.
