LPAL03. BR ex-Southern Railway ex-LSWR Drummond Class M7 0-4-4 Tank Loco No. 30053. In BR lined black livery, weathered, with late crest and shedplate 70A Nine Elms. This is from a DJB Engineering brass kit and fitted with a Portescap motor/gearbox, Slaters wheels, compensated driving axles, removable cab roof, and with good cab detail and crew. It also has representative Westinghouse details fitted for working push-pull trains. The model has had medium use and is a touch noisy running forward (fine in reverse). The prototype was into service from Nine Elms Works in December 1905 as LSWR No. 53, retaining its number through Southern Railway days and becoming BR No. 30053 in 1949. It was withdrawn from Bournemouth in May 1964 although its longest spell in BR days was at Brighton (1953 - 1959). £695.
