LEJ64. Midland Railway Johnson '2441' Class 0-6-0 Tank Loco No. 1943 as a RESTORATION PROJECT. In lined Midland Railway crimson lake livery. This is an older used model probably scratchbuilt in brass and fitted with a heavy duty multi-stage gearbox with corresponding can motor, solid cast wheels, compensation on the leading 2 axles, and with very good cab detail and crew (crew supplied but not fitted). It has a detachable roof. It is a substantial model and is very well painted but has the following issues. (1) Although it runs OK the motor/gearbox combination is very noisy and ideally needs replacing with something more modern. (2) The safetly valves are detached (but present) and ideally should be replaced. The prototype was built at Vulcan Works in May 1902 as MR No. 2764 becoming No. 1943 in the 1907 renumbering scheme. It was withdrawn as late as November 1957 from Kentish Town. SOLD.
