LRS18. BR ex- Southern Railway ex- LB&SCR Stroudley 'E1' Class 0-6-0 Tank Loco No. 32694. In plain BR black with early crest, lightly weathered, and shedplate 71D Fratton (1950 - 1954). This is from a Meteor Models brass kit built by Roger Scanlon and fitted with a Mashima motor, single stage gearbox, Slaters wheels, dummy inside motion, and very good cab detail with removable roof. Additionally fitted with DCC (no sound) using a Zimo chip (address 2694). The model is lightly used and the motor/gearbox is a touch noisy in reverse. The prototype was into service from Brighton Works as early as March 1875. It spent its BR days allocated either to Fratton or Southampton Docks (several allocations to each) and was withdrawn from one of these sheds in July 1961, different sources give different answers, with the final journey being to Eastleigh Works. £495.
