LJM02. GWR Collett 'Castle' 4-6-0 and Tender No. 5076 'Gladiator'. Paired with a Collett 4000 gallon tender and in lined GWR green with 'G W' (in gold shaded red) and the 'twin cities' crest on the tender as running circa 1942 - 1948, and with shedcode 'BRD' (Bristol Bath Road) on the running plate. This is one of the recent production of 'Castles' by Lee Marsh Model Company (Limited Edition of approximately 140 models) and is very lightly used. The model is fitted with fully working inside motion, compensated chassis, and superb cab detail as you would expect from Lee's very high standards. Additionally fitted with DCC and sound using an ESU Loksound V5 chip (address 5076) - I believe Cliff Williams has done the electronics for the LM 'Castles' so again the best man for the job. It will also run on DC with limited sound using the DCC blanking plug provided. The model comes in its original inner and outer boxes with maintenance, packing and DCC instructions and with unused accessories, DCC blanking plug, plinth and gloves. Due to the value, shipping (UK and International) is by DHL only at cost price. The prototype was into service from Swindon Works in August 1938 originally named 'Drysllwyn Castle' and renamed to 'Gladiator' in January 1941 commemorating the Gloster Gladiator as the last of the RAF's biplane fighter aircraft. It had many allocations to Bath Road during its life and was withdrawn from Southall in September 1964, then being sold to Hayes at Bridgend from where none survived. £2800.
