LTSY02. BR ex-Southern Railway Unrebuilt Bulleid 'Battle of Britain' 4-6-2 and Tender No. 34066 ' Spitfire'. In lined BR green with early crest and shedplate 73A Stewarts Lane. This is from a Martin Finney/Finney 7 kit and is fitted with a Canon motor, multi-stage gearbox, Slaters wheels, compensated chassis on the loco and leading 2 tender axles, and with very good cab detail and crew. Additionally fitted with DCC and sound using an ESU Loksound V5 chip (address 4066). This is a used model and the paintwork is poor. It requires minimum 6ft radius curves. DCC instructions are included. The prototype was into service from Brighton Works in September 1947 as No. 21C166 becoming BR No. 34066 in March 1949. Its early days were at Ramsgate before a long period at Stewarts Lane (1949 - 1961) then Exmouth Junction (February 1961 to September 1964) and finally at Salisbury up to withdrawal in September 1966. Its final journey was to Buttigiegs at Newport from where it departed this earth in early 1967. SOLD.
