CPB02. BR Pullman ' K Type' Second Class Parlour/Brake Car 'Car No. 54'. In Pullman livery with grey roof as running post-war. By F.C. Models of Korea for Golden Age Models. These highly detailed models were factory built in brass and have been unavailable for some time. Fitted with interior lighting, opening doors and glass windows. The model is from the second series of Pullman cars produced by Golden Age, is supplied in its original box with instructions, and has been very lightly used. The prototype along with 'Car No. 55' was constructed by Clayton Wagons Ltd. of Lincoln in 1923 as a third class buffet car, these two being the first of a long line of 'K Type' Pullmans, for the 'Harrogate Pullman'. 'Car No. 54' had wider use on the East Coast including 'The Queen of Scots' Pullman then migrating for much of the 1930's to the Eastern Section for service on the 'Eastern Belle' from Liverpool Street. For much of its wartime service it ran as a non-Pullman open third in LNER brown livery then from 1944 - 1946 running in private service as a mobile canteen. Refurbishment then took place and 'Car No. 54' saw Southern Railway/Southern Region service on the 'Bournemouth Belle' and 'Devon Belle'. The next episode saw this vehicle serving on 'The South Wales Pullman' followed by standby service for 'The Bristol Pullman' (to 1966). It is one of the survivors and following a long period of delapidation its restoration was complete at The Bluebell Railway in 2024. £375.
