LRGL05. BR ex- Great Western Railway Collett 'King' 4-6-0 and Tender No. 6010 'King Charles I'. In lined BR blue livery as running circa early 1950's with early crest and shedplate 83D Plymouth Laira. This is by Sancheng for Tower Models and fitted with compensation on the leading 2 loco axles and all tender axles and with very good cab detail. Crew and coal have been added. It has a long drawbar between loco and tender for negotiating tighter curves but a shorter one would make it closer coupled. The model is lightly used and is supplied in its original box with 2 sheets of historical details. The prototype was into service from Swindon Works in April 1928. Its GWR and BR life at Laira was from 1947 (probably earlier) until it moved to Old Oak Common in April 1959. Its last move was to Cardiff Canton in October 1961 from where it was withdrawn in June 1962 as one of Canton's last two 'Kings'. It then spent an extraordinarily long time dumped at Swindon before being broken up in September 1965. £850.
