LSL98. North Staffordshire Railway Longbottom 'D' Class 0-6-0 Tank Loco No. 140. In North Staffordshire brown livery fully lined in red, yellow and black (this was replaced by the more familiar North Staffs Crimson Lake livery in October 1903). The model was scratchbuilt by well respected modeller Peter Everton in 1987 (with his maker’s plate on the underside) for a Professor G Chadwick, and painted by Alan Brackenborough. It is fitted with a Portescap motor/gearbox, Alan Harris (AGH) turned steel wheels, and with excellent cab detail and crew. Additionally fitted with DCC and Sound by Cliff Williams using an ESU Loksound chip (address 140). The model is lightly used. The prototype was into service from Stoke Works in December 1893, being rebuilt with a larger boiler in 1907. It became LMS No. 1585 in 1923 and was withdrawn in 1930. £995.
