LKR39. Great Western Railway 'Dukedog' class 4-4-0 and Tender No. 3265 'Tre Pol and Pen'. In plain unlined GWR green with 'Great Western' in gold shaded red as running in the post-war austerity livery used circa 1919 - 1934 (but the model here is represented as rebuilt as a 'Dukedog' in 1929). This is kitbuilt or part kit/part scratchbuilt in brass and fitted with cast steel wheels, a multi-stage gearbox, extra pickups on the tender, and with good cab detail. The model is lightly used. The prototype was into service from Swindon Works in July 1896 as No. 3271 of the Dean ‘Duke’ class, renumbered in 1912 to No. 3265. It was rebuilt as the first of the 'Dukedog' conversions in 1929 using the frames of 'Bulldog' No. 3365 'Charles Grey Mott'. In 1946 it was renumbered to No. 9065 and having served its life as a ‘Dukedog’ on the Cambrian section was withdrawn from Oswestry in December 1949. SOLD.
