LCMW08. BR ex-LMS Stanier Rebuilt ‘Patriot’ 4-6-0 Loco and Tender No. 45512 ‘Bunsen’. As running in very early BR days circa 1948/1949 in plain black livery with heavy weathering, and shedplate 12A Carlisle Kingmoor (it was Kingmoor from 1935 - 1949, then became Upperby, and then became Kingmoor again from 1958). Paired with a Stanier welded tender, with double chimney and without smoke deflectors. This is well built from a Gladiator brass kit and has what looks like an ABC multi-stage gearbox, Slaters wheels, compensation on the centre driving axle, extra pickups on the tender, and with very good cab detail. Additionally Fitted with DCC (not sound) using an ESU chip (address 5512). This substantial model is lightly used. The prototype originally entered service from Crewe Works in September 1932 as LMS No. 5596 renumbered to No. 5512 in 1934. It was rebuilt in July 1948, almost certainly being painted in BR black at the same time, and in October of that year went to Bushbury. It was at Upperby from May 1949 thence to Kingmoor in November 1964 from where it was withdrawn in March 1965. £995.
