LSF05. North Eastern Railway Worsdell Class 'O' 0-4-4 Tank Loco No. 1703. LNER Class G5. In fully lined NER green livery. This is a factory produced model by DJH from their own whitemetal and brass kit and fitted with a multi-stage gearbox (probably with DJH's own motor type), Slaters wheels and with very good cab detail and crew. The model is very lightly used and is supplied in its original DJH box. The NER 'O' class were a class of 110 locos designed by Wilson Worsdell and built between 1894 and 1901. Amazingly all survived into BR days and were withdrawn between 1950 and 1958 with no survivors. NER No. 1703 new from Darlington Works in June 1895 carried this number through LNER days to 1946 when in the LNER renumbering scheme it became No. 7256 and subsequently BR No. 67256. By January 1948 and almost certainly much earlier it was at Hull Botanic Gardens and finished its days at Bridlington being there from December 1956 to withdrawal in April 1957. £1200.
