LDSW66. BR ex- LNER Thompson Class 'B1' 4-6-0 Loco and Tender No. 61000 ‘Springbok’. In lined BR black livery with early crest and shedplate 30A Stratford. This is factory produced by Sancheng for Finescale Brass and fitted with all the usual Sancheng refinements including excellent cab detail. Additionally fiited with DCC and Sound using an ESU Loksound chip (address 6100). The model is lightly used and is supplied in an original Finescale Brass B1 box but not the one originally supplied with this model. The B1 models are generally considered as one of the best of the Sancheng-produced locos. The prototype entered service from Darlington works in December 1942 as LNER No. 8301, being renumbered to No. 1000 in the LNER 1946 renumbering scheme (subsequently BR No. 61000). Initially being allocated to Darlington it went to Gorton in March 1943 then to several sheds in the South East and East Anglia. Its longest spell was at Stratford from 1948 to 1957. It was withdrawn from Colwick in March 1962. RESERVED.
