LWA11. Great Eastern Railway Holden Class 'S56' 0-6-0 Tank Loco No. 87. LNER Class J69. In fully lined GER ultramarine blue livery. This is from a Connoisseur brass kit built by a top class modelmaker and painted by Conrad Cooper in Precision Paints ultramarine blue. Fitted with a Canon motor, Premier single stage gearbox, Walsall cast steel wheels and with excellent cab detail. The model is very lightly used and the motor/gearbox combination is a touch noisy. The prototype was into service from Stratford Works in September 1904 as GER No. 87 becoming LNER No. 7087 in 1924 and subsequently LNER No. 8633 in the 1946 renumbering scheme. As BR No. 68633 it was at Stratford from 1948 (or earlier) to August 1960 then moving to Parkeston Quay from where it was withdrawn in November 1960. It was soon earmarked for preservation in the National Collection first at the Clapham Transport Museum then moving to the National Railway Museum when it opened in 1975. In 2013 it moved to Bressingham where it is still currently based. RESERVED.
