LKR17. GWR Churchward 'City' Class 4-4-0 Loco & Tender No. 3716 'City of London'. In GWR lined green livery with garter crest as used circa 1906 to 1927/28. This is a brass model by Sancheng for Finescale Brass. Fitted with a compensated chassis on loco and tender, working inside motion and superb cab detail. The model is very lightly used or test run only and is supplied in its original box. The prototype was into service from Swindon Works in May 1903 as No. 3439, renumbered to No. 3716 in 1912. It was one of a class of 20 locos. The class were superceded by Churchward's larger and more powerful 4-6-0 locos and No. 3716 was withdrawn from Bristol Bath Road in April 1929. Its more famous sister 'City of Truro' is of course preserved, some say by dint of its reported 100mph plus record run of 1904. £1395.
