LKR27. BR ex- LNER Gresley A4 Pacific 4-6-2 and Tender No. 60009 'Union of South Africa'. Paired with a corridor tender and in BR lined green with late crest. No shedplate currently fitted but one can be supplied on request. This is a brass model by F.M. Models of Korea for L.H Loveless. Fitted with all the usual LHL refinements including working inside motion, opening smokebox door and superb cab detail with crew fitted. The model is very lightly used and is supplied in its original inner and outer boxes. The prototype was into service from Doncaster Works in June 1937 to Edinburgh Haymarket as LNER No. 4488. It became No. 9 in the LNER 1946 renumbering scheme thence BR No. 60009. It appears to have spent most of its life at Haymarket moving to Aberdeen Ferryhill in June 1962 for service on the Glasgow – Aberdeen three hour expresses. It was withdrawn from Ferryhill in June 1966 thence surviving into preservation. SOLD.
