LKR28. Great Western Railway Dean Prototype 'Aberdare' 2-6-0 Loco and Tender No. 33. In GWR fully lined and panelled pre- 1906 livery. This is a brass model by Duchess Models with their maker's plate on the underside. Fitted with fully working inside motion, cast steel wheels, worm & wheel drive and with very good cab detail and crew. The painting was probably done by the late Les Richards who did most of the work for Duchess Models. The model is lightly used. Please note that the fall plate between loco and tender is detached but present. The prototype was into service from Swindon Works in August 1900 as No. 33, a 2-6-0 freight equivalent of the 4-4-0 Bulldog and Badminton classes. It was renumbered to No. 2600 in December 1912 and was the first of a class that between 1900 and 1907 became 81 locos. It was withdrawn in February 1936. RESERVED.
