LJEP15. BR Riddles Standard Class 5 4-6-0 and Tender No. 73129 (Caprotti Version). Paired with a BR1B tender and in lined BR black livery with late tender crest, some light weathering, and shedplate 84G Shrewsbury. This is from a brass kit possibly by DJB Engineering and is fitted with a multi-stage gearbox, Canon or similar motor, Slaters wheels, compensation on the centre tender axle, American pickup system and with very good cab detail and crew. This is a used model from a working layout. The prototype was into service from Derby Works to Shrewsbury in August 1956. It went to Patricroft (Manchester) in September 1958 and looks to have stayed there until withdrawal in December 1967. It was one of the lucky ones being bought by Dai Woodham at Barry from where it was rescued for preservation in 1972. However restoration only started in earnest in 1993 and it finally returned to steam in 2004 in the ownership of the The Midland Railway Trust. Now out of service awaiting its next overhaul. £995.
