LGS28. LNER Gresley Class V2 2-6-2 and Tender No. 4843 ‘Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry’. In lined LNER apple green livery. This is a factory built model by DJH from their own whitemetal and brass kit. Fitted with DJH's own motor/gearbox combination with Delrin final drive, Slaters wheels and with excellent cab detail. This substantial model is supplied in its original DJH box having been very lightly used. However the box is too long for Royal Mail size limits so if the buyer wants this box the model will have to be shipped by courier to get the necessary insurance cover. The prototype was into service to Doncaster shed from Doncaster Works in April 1939 as LNER No. 4843. It became No. 872 in the LNER 1946 renumbering scheme thence BR No. 60872. It was withdrawn from Doncaster shed in September 1963 having spent its whole life there apart from 2 months at Grantham in 1961. £1495.
