LMF27. Midland Railway Deeley '999' Class 4-4-0 and Tender No. 999. In fully lined Midland Railway crimson lake livery. This appears to be scratchbuilt in brass and fitted with a large can-type flywheel motor with visible brushes, worm and wheel drive, solid cast wheels, and with very basic cab detail. This older model is lightly used and lacks underframe detail, but has nice paintwork to a good colour. The motor/gearbox combination is noisy. The prototype was one of a class of 10 'simple' engines built by Deeley in 1907 and primarily used to test 'simple' propulsion against the 'Compounds'. They were mainly used on the Settle and Carlisle route and all were withdrawn between 1925 and 1929, No. 999 lasting until February 1929 (having been renumbered to No. 809 in 1926). RESERVED.
