LRWS01. BR ex- LMS Fowler Unrebuilt 'Patriot' 4-6-0 Loco and Tender No. 45516 'The Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment'. In lined and weathered BR green livery with late crest and shedplate 12B Carlisle Upperby. This is a brass model factory produced in Korea for Lee Marsh Models with all Lee's usual refinements including compensated chassis, working inside motion and superb cab detail. Also fitted with DCC and sound using an ESU Loksound chip (address 5516). There is a DCC blanking plug supplied which fits below the rear of the cab and allows normal DC running without sound. Additionally, weathering has been undertaken by Martyn Welch at a cost of £400 (with crew) and a copy of Martyn's invoice is included. The model is lightly used and is supplied in its original inner and outer boxes with instructions, DCC blanking plug for DC running, gloves, footplate crew and tools (not fitted), lamps and loco plinth. The prototype was into service from Crewe Works in October 1932 as LMS No. 5982. It was renumbered to No. 5516 in May 1934 and subsequently to BR No. 45516 in 1948. It spent many of its early days at Camden but by nationalisation in 1948 it was at Preston then spending time in its BR years at Carlisle Upperby, Crewe North, Edge Hill and Preston (again). It spent its final 18 months at Warrington Dallam (suggesting mixed traffic rather than express passenger duties), withdrawal then coming in July 1961 with it never having been rebuilt into Stanier taper-boilered form. £2400.
