LPHG05. BR Riddles Standard Class 5 4-6-0 and Tender No. 73096. Paired with a BR1C tender and in lined BR green with late crest and shedplate 9H Patricroft (Manchester). This looks to be from a DJH whitemetal and brass kit, well built and painted. Fitted with an enclosed motor/gearbox, Slaters wheels and with excellent cab detail. The model is lightly used and runs OK but please note that the motor/gearbox combination is very noisy and ideally should be replaced. The prototype was into service from Derby Works to Patricroft in November 1955. It stayed there for 3 years then moving to Shrewsbury for 4 years followed by Gloucester, Wolverhampton Oxley, Nuneaton, Croes Newydd and back to Patricroft in July 1965. It was withdrawn from there in November 1967. Very unusually for a loco withdrawn in the North West it was bought by Dai Woodham and moved to Barry Docks in 1968, from where it was rescued for preservation in 1985 by John Bunch, a Hampshire businessman. Most of its time since then has been on the Watercress Line where it continues to reside but out of service and awaiting a major overhaul. SOLD.
