LDM26. (For Adrian Robins). South Eastern & Chatham Railway Wainwright 'C' Class 0-6-0 and Tender No. 592. In fully lined and panelled SE&CR green livery. This could well be scratchbuilt and is by an unknown builder, and believed to be painted by Dave Studley. Fitted with a Portescap RG7 motor/gearbox, Slaters wheels, compensation on the centre loco and tender axles, and with excellent cab detail. No. 592 is the preserved example of the class on the Bluebell Railway. The prototype was into service from Longhedge Works in 1902 as one of Wainwright's standardised design for freight. In Southern Railway days it carried the numbers A592 then 1592, becoming BR No. 31592 in December 1948. It was withdrawn from service at Ashford Loco in July 1963 but then went to Ashford Works as a stationery boiler (Departmental number DS592) until 1966 - a move which delayed the inevitable long enough for it to be rescued for preservation directly at the end of its tenure at Ashford. £1100.
