LJSW07. London & North Western Railway Ramsbottom 'Special DX' 0-6-0 Goods Loco and Tender No. 3121. In fully lined LNWR blackberry black livery with shedplate 30. This is handbuilt by John Petcher (but without a maker's plate), and painted by Alan Brackenborough. Fitted with fully working inside motion, AGH (Alan Harris) steel wheels, a Portescap motor/gearbox, American pickup system, and with excellent cab detail and crew. The model is lightly used and the motor/gearbox is very slightly noisy. The LNWR DX Goods class was a class of 0-6-0 steam locomotive, designed by John Ramsbottom for freight duties. 943 were constructed, making them the largest single class of steam locomotives built in the UK (also representing the earliest form of standardisation). None were preserved. No. 3121 did not pass into LMS ownership but sister engine No. 3122 did, as LMS No. 8073, with all of the class withdrawn by 1930. RESERVED.
