Fine Quality Model Railways in Gauge 'O' and Gauge '1'
An excellent model of BR ex- Southern Railway rebuilt Bulleid ‘Merchant Navy’ pacific No. 35004 ‘Cunard White Star’. This is in BR green with late crest and shedplate 72B Salisbury. From a David Andrews kit fitted with Canon motor and an ABC type gearbox and Slaters wheels. Also fitted with compensation and superb cab detail. There are some very minor issues with the lining on the running plate where transfers may have been used. The model is test run only, it was built some years ago to a Customer commission but never used so will need some running in. The prototype was into service from Eastleigh Works in October 1941, was rebuilt in July 1958 and was withdrawn from Bournemouth in October 1965. Despite 11 of the class surviving due to the Barry effect, No. 35004 was not one of them as it was scrapped onsite at Eastleigh (shed, not works) by an outside contractor (Cohens) in February 1966. SOLD.
