Fine Quality Model Railways in Gauge 'O' and Gauge '1'
LSL07. A fine model of BR Ivatt ‘Duchess’ pacific No. 46257 ‘City of Salford’. This has recently been completed from a Tower Collection/DJH kit and is finished in BR green with early crest and shedplate 1B Camden. Built by a top class model maker and painted by Conrad Cooper. Fitted with 10 watt Maxxon motor and ABC gearbox. Excellent cab detail. The prototype entered service from Crewe Works in May 1948 as the only BR-built Duchess and one of only two with design modifications by H.A. Ivatt (the other being 46256 ‘Sir William Stanier F.R.S’ which entered service in December 1947 as one of the very last LMS locos). It was withdrawn from Carlisle Kingmoor in September 1964. The model is new and unused and supplied in original box. A rare opportunity to purchase an Ivatt ‘Duchess’. SOLD.
