LPHG06. LMS Stanier 'Duchess' Pacific 4-6-2 and Tender No. 6233 'Duchess of Sutherland'. In lined LMS maroon livery as preserved with shedplate 1B Camden, lined and finished by Warren Haywood. This is a brass model by Sancheng for Finescale Brass with all their usual refinements including compensated chassis, opening smokebox door, opening tender water filler and excellent cab detail. The model has been lightly used mainly for display purposes and is supplied in its original inner and outer boxes. The prototype was into service from Crewe Works to Camden in July 1938 as one of the non-streamlined series with the continuous footplate. It became BR No. 46233 and was withdrawn from Liverpool Edge Hill in February 1964, then saved by Billy Butlin for static display at his holiday camp at Ayr in Scotland. From there it went to Bressingham Steam Museum and in 1996 was acquired by the Princess Royal Class Locomotive Trust who did a superb job of restoring it to operational condition for service on the main line. It couldn’t be in better hands and is currently under its latest overhaul. £1750.
