Fine Quality Model Railways in Gauge 'O' and Gauge '1'
An excellent Gauge 1 model by Finescale Brass/Sancheng of BR ex- LMS Stanier ‘Black Five’ 4-6-0 No. 45110. This is in BR lined black with early crest, finished and lined by Conrad Cooper. Shedplate 6J Holyhead where it resided from 1948 to 1964. This loco is new and unused in original box and fitted with all the usual Sancheng refinements. The prototype was into service from Vulcan Foundry in June 1935 and was withdrawn from Lostock Hall (Preston) in August 1968. That date is very significant as it participated in the ‘fifteen guinea special’ last official BR steam railtour on 11th August 1968, and as such was the last BR-owned standard gauge steam locomotive to haul a paid for service on the national network. £1895.
