LAS08. A very good used model of a BR ex- LNER O2/4 'Tango' 2-8-0 No. 63960. In BR plain black with early crest, heavily weathered, and fitted with shedplate 40D Tuxford (between Doncaster and Lincoln). This is kit/scratch built and fitted with what looks like a large Sagami motor, Ron Chaplin double reduction gearbox and solid cast wheels. Very good cab detail. The motor/gearbox is noisy, and it needs wide radius curves. The prototype was into service in January 1934 as a class O2, later 02/4, to a GNR design dating from 1918 when the first O2 entered service. It was withdrawn from Grantham in September 1963. £995.
