A fine Gauge 1 Model of Midland Railway 4-4-0 Loco and Tender No. 1757 ‘Beatrice’ as running in 1906 condition. This was built in 1998 by Alan Curtis for Premier Gauge Railways incorporating some original Bassett Lowke parts. In Midland Railway fully lined crimson lake, painted by Les Richards. The paperwork states this as being No. 3 of an intended Limited Edition of 10 locos but I doubt very much if more than a handful were produced. Fitted with finescale cast wheels and large Crailcrest type motor. It can be powered via DC from the track or can be switched to battery power using rechargeable batteries in the tender (charger is provided). This model is in mint condition complete with all original paperwork (including certificate) and box, and has been used for display purposes only. The prototype was to a Johnson design and built at Derby in 1886, named after Princess Beatrice (daughter of Queen Victoria).  SOLD.
