Maritime Models

A very fine model Norfolk Beach Yawl 'Bittern' of Southwold . Model built by Russell Phillips to a scale of one forty eighth. Built to the same clinker construction methods as the original in 1892. Overall length 16 inches (plinth 18 inches). £450.
A very fine model of a Beer lugger 'Little Jim' of Exmouth No. E159. Model completed in 2006 by Russell Phillips to a scale of half inch = 1 foot. Built to the same construction methods as the original in Cherry, Spruce and Mahogany. Overall length 18.25 inches. The original was a sailing and pulling boat dating from 1916 unique to East Devon carrying the main lugsail astride the boat to give the crew space to work. A fully rigged cased model. £800.
A very fine model of Deal Galley 'Princess of Dover'. Model completed in 2009 by Russell Phillips to a scale of three quarter inch = 1 foot. Built to the same clinker construction methods as the original in Cherry, Spruce and Mahogany. Overall length 19.5 inches. The original was from circa 1880 and was used for putting pilots on board ship and for taking out mails. In service until after World War I. £500.
